Secret Neighbor review
Secret Neighbor: Hello Neighbor Multiplayer is a fun horror/survival game that you can play together with your friends. The game is available as a Steam download for PC and as a physical release for Xbox One consoles.
Not All Neighbors Are Friendly
The multiplayer edition of Hello Neighbor is played in teams of six. The ultimate goal is to locate the key to the basement, which isn’t easy to accomplish because it’s hidden somewhere in the big house. To make matters worse, each team is infiltrated by a player who is actually the villain, trying to prevent other team members from capturing the key. Of course, this has to be done in secret so that the other players are unable to figure out who’s “the bad one” for as long as possible.
Horror Doesn’t Have to Rely on Blood and Gore
There are no graphic depictions of blood in Secret Neighbor, and the game has a lot less violent imagery and references than you’d expect. The horror aspect of Secret Neighbor is realized through the suspense, as you never know what’s going to happen to you and other players in the next moment. You also don’t know who to trust (even though you are encouraged to work as a team), so you have to weigh every step and decision carefully.
As you play the game, you’ll see that there are no “perfect” solutions to lead you to victory. Since you can play with different people, the group’s behavior is always unpredictable and you have to think fast if you want to win. Fortunately, there’s not much of a learning curve when it comes to controls. and they work pretty well, so you can focus on devising your strategy immediately with no distractions.
Secret Neighbor: Friendship, Mystery, and Betrayal
Whether you get to play as the Neighbor or one of the kids, you are guaranteed to have fun. Since the graphics do not feature blood and gore, Secret Neighbor is also suitable for younger kids (parental supervision may be a good idea because of the chat function) and people who are put off by graphic depictions of violence. All in all, we recommend Secret Neighbor to anyone looking for a fun game that can be played with friends.
